Officer Dave Harris knows what the call over his radio means even before he arrives at the scene. The third call of its kind in as many days, the scene that awaits him is grisly. Dave can hardly stand what he finds at each of the scenes but this is his beat and he refuses to leave the responsibility to someone else. One thing is painfully obvious; there is a serial killer on the loose in Seattle.
Robbie Taylor is a psychic working for the FBI. He is known for his unorthodox methods. He has been on the trail for quite some time but so far the killer has managed to avoid capture. He is determined to stop the killings and bring the madman to justice, even, if he has to break some of the FBI’s rules and risk is own safety to do it.
Dave is intrigued by Robbie. Robbie is unlike anyone he has ever met before. However, as an African-American cop he has experienced prejudice first hand. He has worked very hard to keep the fact that he is gay a secret. He is afraid of what his attraction to Robbie might bring. Robbie understands how Dave feels. As an agent he understands the need for secrecy. Despite this he is determined to get to know Dave better. Robbie has a feeling that Dave is what he needs in his life both professionally and personally. But their new relationship is shrouded by an increasing sense of urgency. The killings are increasing. The killer is on to them and Dave and Robbie are running out of time.
This story has a chillingly realistic feel to it. The author’s descriptions of the crime scenes are very well done. I also really enjoyed the glimpse that the author provides of life as a police officer, especially officers who are minorities. Dave and Robbie are both well-rounded and appealing characters. Their relationship is sweet and yet intense. I loved the way Robbie and Dave leaned on each other more and more. NAKED DRAGON by G.A. Hauser is both a spine tingling thriller and a scorching romance. With each book this author just keeps getting better.
