This is the first story by G.A. Hauser that I've read; I've already got another of hers in my ebook queue and there will definitely be more to come. She rates right up there in my estimation, and enjoyment, of her stories of gay romance.
The Boy Next Door was an amazing story and dwelt mainly with Brandon's and Zach's journey into exploring who they were, both as friends and with their sexuality. While Zach was a major player in the story, Brandon's role was deeper. I loved watching their relationship develop as best friends, school mates and, eventually, young lovers. There were times, with Zach, that I just wanted to laugh out loud.
A very emotional story with an enormous amount of heart that will stick with me for a long time to come: It really is a coming of age story, but it is also a story about a deep and enduring love. We should all be so lucky!
OKAY I admit it... my first attraction to this book was due to the cover and the very, very good looking guy on it. *sigh* But as I tell my daughter, I'm married, not dead!
Brandon Townsend never imagined he could be attracted to his best friend and neighbor. He is, and he tries his best to hide his reaction to Zach. What would happen if Zach knew how he felt about him? Would he be disgusted and push him away?
Zachary Sherman has to hide his feelings towards Brandon. He knows if his parents even suspected how he felt, there would be hell to pay. But he cannot help himself. There is no other person in the world he wants more than Brandon
