Book: The Vampire & The Man-Eater

BOOK REVIEW

Brock Hart likes to play the field at the gay bars. Relationship is a dirty word in his book. He prefers to have some regular but casual partners but only for fun. He's lost count of the number of men he's been with. One night he meets Daniel Wolf in his favorite bar and can't seem to get him out of his system. The best sex of his life is only part of it. There's something about the man. Even his fetish for taking blood doesn't put him off. It looks like Brock is about to be tamed by a Wolf.

GA Hauser has proven again that she can take any popular topic of the day and give it her own unique twist. Gay men and vampires have been done before but not like this. Brock and his best friend Eli are opposites when it comes to conquests and relationships. Brock can't get enough. As long as a man fits his physical requirements for sex they're fair game. Eli is a virgin looking for a relationship. Daniel has had many conquests through the years for sex and blood but never had the acceptance that he craves.

These three excellent characters are developed well as people throughout the book. The dialogue is often hilarious as Daniel tries to tell Brock he's a vampire. It's the stuff of great friendships and love as they share their lives and help one another through bad times. We get a front row seat as Brock grows up when he falls in love. He's never really been tested before. We know Ms. Hauser will work something out for them. When she does it's great. This is one of those books that calls us to empathy, laughter, and all the good things that we look for in great fiction.
